Opis stanowiska
We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental particle physics to be employed as an assistant professor in a group of research staff in the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques in the project 11 IDUB. The candidate will join the team of ATLAS experiment at the LHC. He/she will be responsible for the development of software for track reconstruction using data from the new ATLAS ITk detector currently under construction, both for offline and online use-cases. The candidate is also expected to work on track reconstruction techniques specific to heavy ion collision data. Contributions to research and development activities in the aforementioned areas, such as the application of machine learning, are also anticipated. The position is for 12 months and offers very competitive remuneration. Due to formal requirements, the offer is directed at individuals who hold citizenship of a country other than Poland.
12-month contract starts on the 1.12.2025.
Nasze wymagania
- PhD at least in physical sciences, awarded not sooner than 7 years prior to publication of this job opening,
- demonstrating scientific and organizational achievements and active participation in conferences and symposia,
- experience in working in large experiments in high energy physics,
- having scientific achievements in the reconstruction of charged particle tracks in silicon detector systems and high-level technical skills (C++ and Python programming),
- membership and experience in the above-mentioned areas within the ATLAS experiment will be an asset,
- knowledge of English at least at B-2 level.
