Research Assistant (without teaching load) position in the research project (no. 2023/51/D/HS5/01572)
entitled “Towards a new substantial standard of judicial independence within the EU? Constitutional, comparative, and empirical study of Polish and Romanian courts’ reactions to CJEU and ECtHR developments.”, carried out within the framework of the SONATA-19 competition and funded by the National Science Centre

Nasze wymagania
- Master’s degree in the field of law recognized in the Polish system of education;
- competence in English at least at the C1 level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- competence in Polish at least at the C2 level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- competence in German at least at the C1 level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- experience in qualitative scientific research;
- experience in international scientific cooperation (e.g. foreign scholarships or research internships);
- having a valid work permit or the right to work in Poland provided under other regulations;
- the ability to start the employment in March 2025 or as soon as possible after that date;
Mile widziane
- scientific article in Polish language published in a journal entered on the list of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education
- scientific article or discussion paper or working paper in English language
- scientific article or discussion paper or working paper in German language
Zakres obowiązków
- selection and analysis of the judgments of the German Federal Constitutional Court adopted between 2019-2025 regarding the concepts of independence of the judiciary and impartiality of a judge;
- selection and analysis of the judgments of the ECtHR adopted between 2019-2025 on the concepts of independence of the judiciary and independence of a judge in cases concerning the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and Switzerland;
- state of the art regarding the concept of judicial independence and judge independence in the EU law and the constitutional law of selected EU Member States, with particular emphasis on German-language literature;
- taking part in the preparation of a scientific article based on the data collected in the project;
- analysis of ECtHR case law;
- online dissemination of the semi-final project results;
- other tasks provided by the Principal investigator during project.
