Opis stanowiska
We invite applications for a full-time Assistant position with opportunity for PhD in the SHAPE project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), at the Programmable Polymers Center, led by Prof. UAM Dr. hab. inż. Róża Szweda. The Center operates within the Centre for Advanced Technologies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
This is a 12-month position with the possibility of extension up to 4 years upon mutual agreement. The selected candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research team working at the forefront of polymer chemistry, catalysis, and material science. For interested candidates, the position offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD under supervision of Róża Szweda.
Nasze wymagania
- Master's degree in chemistry
- Experience in laboratory work
- Creativity, ability to work in a team, commitment, and motivation to achieve research goals
- Good command of English
- Documented experience in preparative organic synthesis
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry will be an advantage
- Hands-on experience in chromatographic methods (GC, HPLC, Flash)
- Knowledge of basic spectroscopic methods used to identify organic compounds (NMR, FTIR, CD, UV-vis, fluorescence)
- Ability to design and perform syntheses of organic compounds
- Experience in working with an automated synthesizer
- Ability to prepare scientific publications and present research results
- Proficiency in software such as Origin, Mendeley, MNova
Zakres obowiązków
- Conducting organic syntheses using both classical methods and automated synthesizers
- Designing and performing syntheses of organic compounds, including sequence-defined polymers
- Characterization of compounds using spectroscopic techniques (NMR, FTIR, CD, UV-vis, fluorescence) and chromatographic methods (GC, HPLC, Flash)
- Contributing to the development of research strategies in the field of organic and polymer chemistry
- Analyzing experimental data and interpreting research results
- Preparing scientific publications and presenting research findings at seminars and conferences
- Collaborating with other team members to achieve the project's research goals
- Providing experimental support to junior team members (if needed)
