Research – didactic position is available in the Laboratory of Physiology and Toxicology of Reproduction at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The scientific research of the Laboratory covers issues related to the hormonal regulation of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, and female reproductive endocrinology. These studies are carried out using in vitro cultures of ovarian cells and a number of molecular techniques such as real-time PCR, Western blot, ELISA, cell proliferation and apoptosis tests, and gene expression silencing. The employed person will carry out the following didactic classes: „Tissue Culture – Research Applications”, „Comparative Endocrinology of Vertebrate Reproduction”, as well as selected topics within „Techniques and methods in biological sciences” and „Physiological Research Techniques”.
a) PhD in Biological Sciences;
b) high evaluation of the doctoral thesis;
c) positive opinion of the previous supervisor or scientific supervisor, including the assessment of:
– predisposition to work as an academic teacher;
– experience in independent teaching in the field of reproductive biology, endocrinology, laboratory techniques and animal physiology at the academic level, in Polish;
– candidate’s qualifications and predispositions for team research work and further scientific development;
d) relevant scientific achievements, including publications in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports in the field of female reproductive biology, in particular, the hormonal regulation of ovarian function;
e) experience in research work using modern molecular techniques used in reproductive biology, in particular in vitro culture of ovarian cells using the pig model, in vitro oocyte maturation, in vitro cultures of cell lines, tests for cell proliferation and apoptosis, silencing of gene expression in vitro (siRNA), immunohistochemical techniques, gene expression analysis (Real-time PCR), Western blot, ELISA;
f) experience in obtaining material from livestock;
g) ability to culture primary ovarian cells;
h) documented scientific internships in foreign scientific units;
i) documented scientific cooperation with units in Poland and abroad;
j) fluent knowledge of Polish and English in speech and writing;
k) active participation in scientific life, manifested in particular in conferences and symposiums activities, and active participation in scientific associations.
The submission of relevant documents should confirm the fulfilment of the above criteria
