Opis stanowiska

Kozminski University is looking for candiates to fill in the position of

 

Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Psychology

 

Ref: 8/NAUKA/KPE/23

 

These positions include the following duties:

  • teaching a limited number of classes, in accordance to the position and teaching load assigned to the position, mostly in Polish but occasionally teaching in English also posible ,
  • supervision of student s’ thesis projects, thesis reviews
  • performing administrative tasks as defined by the Head of the Department.

 

Requirements for the candidate for the position of Assistant Professor:

  • completed master’s studies in psychology/ psycholinguistics/ cognitive science or similar
  • PhD in Social Sciences/Humanities/Medical Sciences/Health Sciences (or equivalent for academic degrees obtained abroad),
  • PhD in the discipline of psychology is welcome,
  • habilitated doctor degree would be an additional advantage,
  • knowledge of English at least at the C1 level, as defined in the European System for the Description of Languages,
  • will be an advantage knowledge of English at the C2 level allowing to teach classes in English,
  • knowledge of the Polish language at least at the C1 level,
  • ability to carry out empirical research, supported by a list of empirical papers published in international and Polish scientific journals,
  • interest in the subject of research conducted at the Department of Economic Psychology is welcome,
  • work in research projects/grants financed from domestic and/or foreign funds is welcome,
  • willingness to engage in research projects carried out at the Department of Economic Psychology of KU is welcome,
  • minimum 5 years of teaching experience with students
  • readiness to conduct courses belonging to the canon of intruductory academic psychology courses, eg.:

        –  Introduction to psychology,

        –  Psychology of cognitive processes,

        –   Psychology of emotions and motivation,

        –    Social Psychology,

        –     Personality and individual differences psychology.

  • experience in conducting classes in English on your own is welcome,
  • flexibility in the subject of conducted courses is welcome,
  • documented experience in the organization of teaching and / or improving the quality of education in higher education is welcome (e.g. published case study, didactic manual, e-learning material),
  • coaching experience is welcome
  • documented high teaching skills are welcome,
  • business experience is welcome (eg work in a market research company, financial institution or in other industries related to the so-called applied psychology),
  • experience in the popularization and commercialization of research results is welcome,
  • internships at foreign universities are welcome,
  • foreign scholarships are welcome,
  • high level of digital competence enabling the operation of IT systems,
  • Knowledge of tools supporting research work is welcome (SPSS/Jamovi/JASP, R/Python environment, PsychoPy/Inquisit),
  • interpersonal skills – including communication, coperation, conflict resolution, adaptation, teamwork,
  • ability to think creatively and take initiative, resistance to stress is welcome,
  • profiles on major social media (Google Scholar & Researchgate, LinkedIn)
  • availability to conduct classes on selected days of the week and on selected weekends –
    in accordance with the schedule set by the didactics department,
  • readiness to indicate KU as the first place of work (in case of full-time).

  • contract of employment,
  • full-time or part-time job (0,5) employment for the position,
