Opis stanowiska
The Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science at AGH University of Krakow, Poland has an opening for a research and teaching assistant position in the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques. The selected candidate is expected to join a project connected with experimental data analysis from high energy experiment: LHC and neutrino. The main task is connected with the use of advanced statistical method including machine learning method for the modelling of signal and identifying background connected with signal processes. Knowledge of physical models used in simulations for high energy physics and experience in working with detectors is required. In addition, the assistant will conduct classes including lectures on physics and statistics, computer laboratories on statistics and basic computer science, therefore experience in this field is required.
Full-time contract starts on October 1st, 2025.
Nasze wymagania
- MSc degree or equivalent at least, obtained in the field of physics or similar,
- scientific achievements in the field of experimental high-energy physics,
- predisposition to didactic work,
- readiness to conduct classes on physics and basic Python programming in English,
- English at a level of at least B-2,
- PhD in physical sciences or an open PhD procedure after completion and deposition of the PhD thesis will be an asset.
